But ye are a chosen generation, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

1 Peter 2:9 KJV

Hello and welcome to We, The PeculiarsMy name is Brittany but I go by Beebz. Nice to meet you. 🙂

All my life I knew I was creative but never knew how to properly express it. I wore my creativity as a badge of honor, until it began to stifle me. I would have these great ideas and then get paralyzed by fear. So my creative nature lied dormant for a really long time, rarely making appearances, until now. This site gives me the opportunity to uncover all of my passions and more.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

MARIANNE WILLIAMSON, A RETURN TO LOVE: REFLECTIONS ON THE PRINCIPLES OF A COURSE IN MIRACLES

These days, my goal has simply been to get better in every area. I’ve learned that as I get better everything around me has to elevate. I’ve found that if I want more or if I want to do more, I first have to become more. This blog will serve as a launching pad to elevate not only myself but the community through motivation, self love and care, personal development and action aimed to support and love each other as we all advance.

Many of us are at a point in our lives where we are too old to be irresponsible but too young to let our dreams die. The issue isn’t that we don’t have a dream or a purpose; the issue is bridging the gap between our current situation and making that dream a reality. I don’t have all the answers but I believe that that is the beauty of We, The Peculiars. It’s not a place to show off and tease you with what I have. I’m not trying to woo you with my successes. It’s about transparency, accountability and the belief that if two or more like-minded people are empowered to diligently go after their dreams, the more likely we both are to acquire them.

I believe success is found in what we do daily, so the blog isn’t full of “one and done” articles of how to’s. It is a progression. It’s a picture of my life, my interests and my deepest, darkest secrets on the ground floor at rock bottom. This is what makes us peculiar. Most people aren’t willing to do self work, they aren’t willing to address their issues that lie in the darkest recesses, but we are. We, The Peculiars is relational and has the power to transform lives. My prayer is that if I can bear my soul, it would be a fire starter for more people to feel comfortable with bearing theirs. Once we build an atmosphere of trust, the goal is to make small, positive adjustments daily that could make an even larger impact…together.

Brian Littrell said, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” With We, The Peculiars, you’ll never have to aim alone. No longer will your light be dimmed. You were meant to stand out and shine, you are different by design-a peculiar person who is seen, loved and supported.
